Our Story
Precast HQ was born off the back of Phil Hodder (the ‘H’) and Guy Quaife (the ‘Q’) working as a Main Contractor. They saw an opportunity for a true customer service based precaster with shorter lead times and a true quality focus.
Precast HQ started 2017 with just two casting tables under shrink wrapped scaffold. We recruited well attracting some of the most experienced people in the industry who saw the exciting opportunity to be apart of the next generation in precast manufacturing in New Zealand.
The next 3 years saw rapid growth, development of new manufacturing facilities and the team growing to over 65 strong.
In 2020 Precast HQ completed the development of our purpose built manufacturing facility. Since then our focus has shifted from physically growing in size to instead getting better at what we do. This coincided with Precast HQ starting on our lean manufacturing journey with the Institute of Kaizen, redefining how we operated as a business. We no longer recruit on experience, as we find experience to be a catalyst for mediocracy. Instead we recruit disciplined people who take disciplined action to continuously improve Precast HQ. We are young team, with young leaders. We think big picture and we will be here for the next 30+ years in the pursuit of our vision.

The value that Precast HQ was founded on, and it has been a guiding principle ever since. No matter how the challenge may arise, at Precast HQ it is always ‘Challenge Accepted’ and then do whatever it takes to succeed.

We value integrity and transparency in our relationships with our suppliers and our clients. Internally, we never hide or overlook our issues as it is these issues that fuel our ability to continuously improve.
99% Right is Still Wrong
We are relentless in our pursuit of excellence and for us, 99% doesn’t cut it. Internally, 99% Right is Still Wrong serves as a constant reminder to slow down to speed up. If we settle less for anything less than 100% at any point in this process it results in rework or waste.
